NY Times article – The Return of the Ski Bum
ESPN – Where did the ski bums go?
You call yourself a ski bum!?
How does a man ski every day for seven years? (Still counting)
In his own words, “Go skiing. Shut up and go ski. Quit your whining, shut up and go ski!”
Salute to Veterans – Tenth Mountain Division When duty called, skiers answered. One 92 year old veteran still skis every year.
Hertrich logs 2557 days on snow – You know those “How many days have you skied this season?” threads on some message boards. No matter how many you claim, this guy will see that and raise you 2,557 consecutive days on the slopes! (as of October 31, 2010) With a little help from his friends, he has skied every day since November 1, 2003. He holds the still growing “unofficial” Guinness record. It will be certified once he takes a day off.
I get ideas when I ski…“Going downhill everything is in motion and your brain is processing data at a huge rate…And then there’s the ride up the mountain. The blood is rich with oxygen, the muscles have this incredible sense of well-being, endorphins are flowing, and that’s when the ideas come!”
Take a look at Appalachian Ski Mountain, Beech Mountain Resort, Sugar Mountain Resort and Hawksnest tubing.
When you go skiing and snowboarding, TAKE ME WITH YOU!
(This site looks great on your iPhone, iPad and Android smart phone. (Well, most of it. I’m still working around that iPad won’t play Flash thing.)) And take some pictures and videos! Maybe by the time you get back, I’ll figure out how you can send them to me to share with the rest of the internet. (Sharing is good. It helps the world get along. It shows we can all ski and snowboard together! The whole world enjoys a snow day!)
Don’t forget the Ski Movies
Keep up with the US Ski Team! (If you can.)
